WOW! Was that a great program last week or what! Robert Stein, Deputy Chief Economist at First Trust Advisors L.P., was outstanding. It was so good to learn that there is little chance of recession before 2020 or 2021 So let the good times roll!

This week we'll hear about "futbol"...........Phoenix Rising is our professional league soccer team.  Be on hand to learn about professional soccer in Phoenix and what means for our community.

Scott Sherman will be participating in the Caborca Polio Plus-Children's Medical Fund in February along with about 22 other Arizona Rotarians.  Each club participating is asked to make a donation of $100.00 or more in support of the Fund. In lieu of "Happy Bucks" this week, we will be "passing the hat" for your donations to this worthy event.  Our board has agreed to match the donations from our members.

The Sherman's will be hosting a Super Bowl Party (Patriots v. Eagles) for Scottsdale Sunrise Rotarians on Sunday, February 4th at their home (8001 N. 73rd Place). The party is a "pot luck" event , so bring a dish or salad, etc. SSRC will provide beverages.  Scott will open the batting cage for those of you who would like to test their skill.  Exact times will be announced later.

Upcoming events include:
  • 2/24: Special Day for Special Kids (SDSKs) check with Bill Bergdoll for ways to participate.
  • 3/4: Spring Training game at Salt River Fields, at  1:00 PM.  See Evie Haberer for tickets. $34.00 each.
